MARK MORTENSEN RACE REPORT FOR 4/25/09

Saturday, April 25 was a busy evening at the Fonda Speedway as the CRSA Sprint cars were added to a regular show making it a seven division racing program at the Track of Champions. In Sportsman division qualifying Mark started seventh in the first heat race and made his way up to the fifth position by the time the checkered flag flew. After coming into the pit area Mark and his crew decided to do a gear change in the rear end of the Jumpin’ Jacks Drive In, Boyd Motorworks powered #1M Teo car. The crew made the gear change and Mark was prepared to start the feature event in the seventh starting position. The Modified, Pro Stock, IMCA, and Street Stock features were completed and the CRSA feature was on the track when heavy rain started to fall six laps into the event. Because of the heavy rain the remainder of the racing program including the CRSA, Sportsman, and 602 Limited Sportsman features were cancelled and will be completed on Saturday, May 2 before another regular show will take to the speedway in all divisions. That means that Mark and his crew will be very busy that night as he will be running double features in the Sportsman division.
